We invite you to experience the music at Aldersgate. Music is vital to the worship of our Lord, and at Aldersgate, we offer our praise and thanksgiving through various forms of music and musical interpretation. Aldersgate maintains a long tradition of musical excellence through our choir, ensembles, handbell choir and recent addition of our Children’s Choir and Children’s Handbell Choir.
No matter your music background, we encourage you to participate in our musical ministry if you feel led. To learn more about the opportunities in music at Aldersgate, contact choir director, Ondra Farmer, or organist, Betsy Porter.
Music Opportunities at Aldersgate:
The Adult Choir sings each Sunday during worship. The 45-member choir is a non-audition choir that meets and rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in choir room behind the sanctuary.
The women’s ensemble, “Rejoice,” rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. in the choir room behind the sanctuary.
The men’s ensemble, “Exalt,” rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. in the choir room, behind the sanctuary.
Adult Handbell Choir:
Our adult handbell choir, “Celebrate,” currently has 14 members and rehearses at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, across from the Pathfinders room. Reading music is necessary for playing handbells and if you would like to learn to play, we will teach you!
The children’s choir rehearses during Children’s Church, which takes place during the Sunday morning worship service and performs special music during Sunday morning services throughout the year.
Children’s Handbell Choir:
The children’s handbell choir is a new addition to the musical offerings at Aldersgate. The children learn to play handbells on colored bells and practice during Children’s Church, on Sunday mornings.
