Children & Youth Ministries

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” I Timothy 4:12

Our Children and Youth are a vital part of our Worship, Mission, and Ministry at Aldersgate.  We seek to incorporate these age groups in all we are as a church body.

Ministry Safe Policy
As a Christian community of faith, we pledge to conduct ourselves in ways that honor God and assure the safety of the children and youth we minister to.  Aldersgate maintains a child safety policy that includes background checks for all volunteers and regular training on youth/child safety.
Nursery
Aldersgate provides a nursery for children newborn to 3 years old. The Nursery is available during all Sunday morning activities and services. Aldersgate provides child-care for any activities at the church, including Bible studies, special music events and more.
Sunday Classes
Aldersgate is excited about the new children’s curriculum offered beginning April 2025.  The format brings all children’s grades together to cultivate faith skills in an active and engaging way.  Grades then split into groups for further age-appropriate learning activities.  Our Aldersgate youth meet to explore biblical topics with an adult counselor
Moments with the Children
During each Sunday’s worship service, Brother Chris invites all children to the front of the church for a special time of fun and learning about each week’s sermon, told on a child’s level of understanding.
Children’s Church
After the “Moments with the Children” during each Sunday’s worship service, children are invited to attend Children’s Church. Children’s Team Leader, Taylor Ann Johnson, teaches age- appropriate lessons, which tie to the Sunday School lesson of the day.

Youth Mission Trip
In June of 2025, our youth are traveling to East Tennessee to aid in Hurricane Helene relief efforts to those areas impacted by the devastating flooding.  This group will fulfill our mission by “Serving Others…”,while having the opportunity to grow in faith.
Vacation Bible School
The 2025 edition of VBS is themed “Building Lives on the Word of God” and will challenge our children to grow deeper in their connection and service to the Father.  June 25, 26, 27th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for ages 3 years to 5th grade.  Teen volunteers are needed as well.  Register your child by calling the office at 731-427-4887.
Children’s Festival
In celebration of Easter, Aldersgate holds this yearly event for the community.  In 2025, the children and parents enjoyed a magic show by Dr. Barry Scott that taught Christ’s Resurrection story followed by a traditional egg hunt.
