Bro Chris Cooksey Hello! (youtube.com)

I have served in pastoral ministry for nearly 21 years now. I have a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from Mississippi State University, and attended Memphis Theological Seminary, in Memphis, TN. I am a 53-year-old, married, father of 3. My wife and best friend for over 26 years now is Amanda. She is my balance and strength. Our oldest daughter, Taylor, is the mother of 2 and is an RN who now lives and works in Jackson, TN. Our son, Nick, is 22 and lives in Starkville, MS. We also have a 29-year-old daughter, Shae, whom we were blessed to have the opportunity to be an emergency foster family for beginning in 2008. She kind of stuck after that and we proudly claim her as our own. She now lives in Norman, OK with her 3 children who call me PopPop.

I am a person who is deeply committed to take my call very seriously, though I try not to take myself that way. I find my gladness in using the triumphs and failures, the joys and sorrows, the health and the illnesses to become an instrument crafted for the very moment of need that God leads me to encounter in others. I seek to find contentment over situational happiness. In that place, I find that I’m more able to enjoy the sweeter moments in life because I’m not afraid to lose them… they were a  gift to begin with, and God only allows us to enjoy them on this side of the veil for an instant…but what is to come will endure forever. And this revelation is something that I try to share with others at every opportunity.

I am a passionate advocate for the cause of Christ, a witness to God’s redeeming Grace in my own life, and a proclaimer of His power to transform past sin into future victory for all who would accept it. I believe in the infallibility of Scripture, and the eternal, unyielding call of Grace. I believe that ministry is shared by the pastor and congregation. That both should always be reaching to the world for miraculous, redemptive transformation. Most of all, I believe that we are only limited by what Christ can accomplish through us, so we are limitless in Him. I can’t wait to get started on what He has for us next!
